I rolled credits on Bayonetta 2! This will be my second time playing through this game, the 1st was when it came to Switch. I decided to play on HARD from the get-go, a 1st for the year of the hack & slash.

Having finished Bayo1 with a better understanding of the combat system I wanted a challenge.

I’m glad I did! It was an entertaining and challenging play through, but doing it on the heels of the first Bayonetta, i can safely say 1 is my favorite in the series.

I think my biggest complaint is that you spend a lot of time anywhere but the ground. You’re in the water or flying A LOT and while those segments can be cool! They force you into weird perspectives and take away a lot of the freedom of movement that bayo 1 issued.

I hated almost every fight with Balder, they were challenging on hard, but I think it speaks the versatility of the combat that I was able to overcome these fights, even though I would start out feeling like they would be completely insurmountable.

The story was fine, with this kid being one of my least favorite game characters in recent years. I find their design and attitude borderline insufferable. I’m hoping they don’t return for Bayo3.

While on that note, I would like to say that we should believe people when they talk about corporate greed, and even though it is being dragged around, I think the treatment of VAs alongside of most other labor in the video game industry needs a complete workaround.
