The combat is BY FAR my favorite part. imagine a deep beat ‘em up but w/swords. Secret combos, move inputs, different weapons to pick up & try. It’s like streets of rage 2, without grabs & throws. It’s very fun. It starts to fall apart with room sized bosses & tight play forming.

It also has weird little guys to collect! This is my biggest frustration. Hey, you like the hook shot from Zelda!? Well you can only use it if you first find a mirror & only if your magic timer didn’t tick down. Oh & hopefully you also don’t want the beefcake fire genie as well.

BUT it’s worth playing, especially a dual-play experience back2back with Centy. It’s easy to get lost in the well of well known 16bit ARPGs like Link to the Past and Secret of Mana, it’s nice to try some of the lesser known titles on a system that isn’t known for these games.
